- Hair analysis is the new tool
to determine the cause of bleeding in horses. Your horses
hair samples are sent to American Equine Nutrients, inc. where
they are washed in special water and solvent solutions, thoroughly
dried, weighted and placed in an acid solution where they
are dissolved. The resulting solution is analyzed with laboratory
equipment which can detect up to 68 minerals in your horses hair.
A report is prepared by computers showing a mineral standard
comparison between each mineral level indicated and the report
provides a mineral reference range for your horse.
-
- Why Hair Analysis?
- Hair, hooves and teeth are tissues
in which trace minerals are stored.
- What do veterinarian experts
and scientists say
- about hair analysis?
- Hair provides more long term
exposure of toxic elements as well as deficiencies and imbalances.
Veterinarians using hair analysis findings suggest that selenium
status in your horses body provides more valid results.
